Apache Superset is an open-source software cloud-native application designed for the exploration and visualization of big data.  To learn more about the application, visit the Superset documentation at https://superset.apache.org/docs/intro.

How it Works

The Superset integration uses a single sign-on protocol and is configured on a per-Project basis. Each Project has its own deployment of Superset and an assigned Superset Administrator.  Once Superset has been deployed and Project data have been provisioned to a Project-specific relational PostgreSQL database, Project members can open Superset to access and explore the data, create rich interactive visualizations, and use the SQL Lab to query data and prepare it for visualization.

Prerequisites

  • Project Member with a role that includes Superset access.

Data Stewardship

Users are reminded to abide by the Platform Terms of Use and any Project-specific restrictions when using Workspace tools to access data and code.

Getting Access to Superset

Before using Superset in your Project, the application and connected databases need to be configured. Project Administrators may contact the Platform Administrator to set up Superset for their Project.

Launching Superset

After Superset has been deployed as a Workspace tool for your Project, you can start using Superset to explore and visualize your data.

  1. Launch your Project and click the Superset icon in the left-hand sidebar.

  2. Superset launches in a new browser tab. You can now explore and visualize the data that is available to you.

Additional information about Superset and its configuration can be found in the Superset documentation: https://superset.apache.org/.
