Workspaces FAQ

Analytics Workspaces are virtual environments provided to Brain-CODE users to analyze requested datasets upon approval from the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI). OBI expects all approved analyses to be completed on these Analytics Workspaces.

Workspace access is granted to those approved for data access through the Controlled Data Release Process. For these data releases, Users will be provided with access to a Windows Virtual Machine with 2 cores and 4GB of RAM. Upon data request approval, the Brain-CODE team will work with you on determining the feasibility of additional computing requests when setting up the Workspace.

 

Users will be provided with access to a Windows Virtual Machine with the following tools: R Studio, Python, LibreOffice. Upon data request approval, the Brain-CODE team will work with you on determining the feasibility of any additional software requests when setting up the Workspace.

 

Please submit a ticket to the Brain-CODE Help Desk including details of the modifications you would like to make to your Workspace.

 

If you have completed your analysis, please submit a ticket to the Brain-CODE Help Desk to deactivate your Workspace and obtain instructions on how to extract your results.

As per the Data Use Agreement, you will be asked to complete an annual update to the Ontario Brain Institute regarding how the accessed data was used. This form will be shared over email. Users can request extensions to data access and Workspace in this form.
