Inviting a Platform Administrator or a Platform User
Platform Administrators can also invite new users without a Project Role and assign them the role of Platform Administrator or Platform User (a user who can log in and explore the list of Projects in the Platform and access the basic Support features).
Instructions
Click Platform Management in the Main Menu, and open the User Management tab.
Click Invite User.
In the popup window, enter the email address of the new user.
Note: If the user’s email address already exists in the platform, a warning is displayed.Select the Role.
Platform Administrator provides access to all Platform management.
Note: Platform Administrator is the highest privilege role. Only select this option for suitably trained individuals.Platform User is a basic registered user with no Project membership who can only view the Project Landing page and see the basic information about Projects listed there.
A popup window prompts you to review the provided information. Click Send to complete the invitation, or Cancel to exit. The invitation acceptance steps and additional details are described in Logging in and out > Activating your account.
An invitation link is valid for 30 days. If the invitation link expires, or the user lost or deleted the original email invitation, restart the invitation process.
Considerations for Platform User Invitations
If you send a Platform User invitation to a new user who has already received a Project membership invitation from a Project Administrator, the new user can activate their account using either one of the invitation links, but will be granted the Project role instead of Platform User role.
Considerations for Platform Administrator Invitations
If you send a Platform Administrator invitation to a new user, Project Administrators are prevented from inviting that user into a Project.
If you attempt to send a Platform Administrator invitation to a new user who has already received a Project membership invitation from a Project Administrator, you will be prompted to override the Project Invitation. If you proceed, the Project invitation will be cancelled (expired) and the user will only be able to activate their account with the link in the Platform Administrator invitation. The Project Administrator will see the invitation status changed to Expired in the Project Members table.
If you attempt to send a Platform Administrator invitation to a new user who you’ve already invited with the Platform User role, you will be prompted to override the Platform User Invitation. If you proceed, the Platform User invitation will be cancelled (expired) and the user will only be able to activate their account with the link in the Platform Administrator invitation. The Platform User invitation status will change to Expired in the Platform Members table.
