Granting Users Access to Guacamole VMs

Before Project users with permission to access the Guacamole Workspace Tool can launch a Guacamole VM, they must first be granted access to one.

Prerequisites

  • A Project user assigned to a Project user role with permission to access the Guacamole Workspace tool (i.e, Project Administrator, Project Collaborator, or a custom role).

  • A Guacamole VM provisioned to the Project.

Data Stewardship

Users are reminded to abide by the Platform Terms of Use and any Project-specific restrictions when using Workspace tools to access data and code.

  1. Log in to Pilot and navigate to your Project.

  2. Select the Members icon from the Project Tools.

  3. Click on the Guacamole VM Management tab.

  4. Locate the Project user you wish to grant access to the VM.

    • Note: This user must have a Project user role with permission to access the Guacamole Workspace tool (i.e, Project Administrator, Project Collaborator, or a custom role).

  5. Click the three horizontal dots icon in the Manage Access column.

  6. From the drop down menu select Manage Access.

  1. In the popup window click Edit Access.

  2. Select the VMs you wish to grant access to from the list.

    • Note: Depending on the type of VM, there may be two entries for the different ways of accessing a VM.

  3. Click Confirm.
