Managing Project Data between Green Room and Core

Pilot provides segregated data storage zones for Project data of different sensitivities.

  • The Green Room is the landing zone for all files uploaded to a project. If necessary, data uploaded to the Green Room can be pre-processed using Workspace Tools to remove sensitive information.

  • In contrast to the Green Room, the Core serves as the curated data storage zone of the project where team collaboration tables place. Here, permissioned Project members can access shared data, launch analytic workspace tools, and create versioned Datasets.

  • Copying data from the Green Room to the Core is a controlled action restricted to privileged user roles

In order to ensure compliance of all data in the Core with the Project's respective data management plan, the transfer of data from the Green Room to the collaboratively used Core is a tightly controlled process which can only be performed by privileged user roles. Project members who lack the copy-to-core permission must first select files or folders from their own Project Green Room folder and submit a Copy-to-Core request to copy the selected files to the Project's Core. This provides Project Administrators with full control of their Project data, ensuring, for example, that all data are minimized to the extent necessary to comply with the Project’s data management plan before being copied to the core.
