Renaming and Moving Items

Files and folders can be moved and renamed within the same Project zone (Green Room and Core).

Prerequisites

Requires a member role with the Edit permission level, or Project Administrator role.

Instructions

Move a File or Folder

Files and folders can be moved to a different location within the same zone (Green Room or Core). Note: Top-level User folders and Shared Folders cannot be moved.

  1. Navigate to the Project File Explorer Green Room or Core.

  2. Select one or more files and/or folders by clicking the checkbox beside each one (or use the select all checkbox).

  3. Click Move To in File Explorer menu. A popup window prompts you to enter a new destination.

  4. Select a destination, then click Confirm.

  5. The item is moved to the new destination. Confirmation status can be viewed in the File Status panel.

Rename a File or Folder

Files and folders in both the Green Room or Core can be renamed.
Note: Top-level User folders cannot be renamed but top-level Shared folders can be renamed.

  1. Navigate to the Project File Explorer Green Room or Core.

  2. Select a file or folders by clicking the checkbox beside it.

  3. Click the Action icon (three dots) beside the file, then click Rename.

  4. Enter a new name then click Rename.

  5. The item is renamed. Confirmation status can be viewed in the File Status panel.

Rename a Shared Folder

Shared Folders can be renamed by a Project Administrator. See Managing User and Shared Folders in a Project
