Two-factor authentication (sometimes referred to as two-step login) is implemented on Brain-CODE’s Seafile. Logging in to Seafile will soon require an additional step to verify your identify when accessing certain projects or personal settings.

There are two options implemented for authentication on Seafile:

  • Email Verification - receive a code through email and enter into Seafile within X.XX minutes.

  • Google Authenticator - receive a code through Google Authenticator, a Token Generator app, and enter into Seafile within X.XX minutes.

After entering your login credentials (username and password) you will be asked for an Authentication token, you will see the following on screen:

Email Authentication

There is no advance setup required to authenticated by email. Follow the steps below to log into Seafile using email verification.

  1. Log into Seafile and select the option for: Email: Send an email containing your verification code to your email account.

  2. You will receive a verification code via email. The message will be titled "Seafile 2-step login" and will come to the primary email address listed in your Seafile account.

  3. Enter the code contained in the email into the Enter your verification code window.

  4. Click Submit to log into Seafile.

Note: codes sent via email will expire in 2-minutes. You must enter it into REDCap before it expires. Each code can only be used one time.
